Considered an ancestral land and birthplace of the Vietnamese people, Phu Tho is rich in history and legends with a myriad of historical and cultural monuments and festivals. A key special event is the Hung Kings Temple Festival where visitors can immerse themselves in the legend and worship of the Hung Kings and their royal families who built Vietnam’s first state of Van Lang.

Phu Tho is a mountainous province considered the gateway to the Northern Highlands trail where the three rivers of Da, Lo, and Thao meet against the majestic backdrop of Tam Dao and Hoang Lien Son mountains. It is home to the natural beauty of Ao Chau Lagoon, Thanh Thuy hot mineral springs, and Xuan Son National Park.

Tea plantations cover much of Phu Tho’s surrounding hills and locals will offer you a refreshing green tea as a sign of their hospitality.
